Package: cups-filters Version: 1.28.7-1+deb11u1 Severity: important Tags: upstream
Hi, Version 1.28.7-1+deb11u1 of cups-filters, which is distributed in bullseye, has a bug that causes pdftoraster to consume huge amounts of memory and results in the process being killed by the kernel. In this case (which depends on the printer and the cups filters being used), it is impossible to print. The bug was originally reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1920190 Then fixed here: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/pull/363 And the fix is available in this release: https://github.com/OpenPrinting/cups-filters/releases/tag/1.28.9 I haven't found an updated version of cups-filters in bullseye backports, would you consider backporting this package so that bullseye users have the fix? (I have installed cups-filters 1.28.16-1+b1 and it does fix my problem).
