Looks like either it's a very old version, or cups-filters hasn't done the PointerHolder transition yet. A quick workaround would be to define POINTERHOLDER_TRANSITION=0 in the build. When I get some time over the next few days, I will prepare a proper bug report and/or NMU unless someone gets to it first.
