reopen 210879 !

thanks

The story so far...

AC reported that certain language was ambiguous.

Many objections ensued**, the substance of which can be divided in two types.
The first kind was from non-native English speakers who honestly didn't see any
ambiguity. The second kind was from mathematically minded English speakers who
held that ambiguity is subjective and therefore irrelevant to "technical"
topics -- to detect ambiguity therein is to misread. Being programmers,
probably some of the non-native English speakers are also mathematically
minded.

(**why so many objections to a mere wishlist bug? Dunno...)

Alternative wordings have been suggested, but there's been no replies on those
yet, perhaps because doing so might be a tacit admission of error, or because
nobody's paying attention, though #210879's turn-around time from open to
closed seems incongruously rapid.
