I had detected a problem when I asked a question in a German Debian forum: http://www.debianforum.de/forum/viewtopic.php?p=420815#420815 Someone gave me an answer that was rather useless to me: He gave me a URL that was a dead link. But: I found out that (nearly) all other people in this forum and in my circle of friends could resolve that link, but I could never resolve it in person. The problem: I have an Internet connection based on Alice-DSL. For me, the link http://ftp.debian.org/debian/dists/sarge/ChangeLog is a dead link. Some other Alice-DLS costumers cannot resolve that link, too. The server ftp.debian.org is only reachable via ping (and gives me the IP address 128.101.240.212), but never with: - wget - Mozilla - Opera - Microsoft Internet Explorer if I try that shortened URL: "http://ftp.debian.org";. In the meantime, I suppose that the administrator of ftp.debian.org blocks any connection from Alice-DSL customers.
