Just a quick note, no all the post provided by news.d.n have to be agregated to planet. I think the weekly sections (new packages and wnpp[1]) could be skipped and just agregate the updates post, example: brief updates [2], team updates [3] and new developers [4]. Then we have between 1-3 weekly posts, usually just one. I also want to say again news.debian.net is not meant to replace d-d-announce just to complement it.
