That would be awesome, please go ahead. A similar idea I had but didn't yet get time to implement was Debian work parties. Focussed, well promoted times when we invite folks to do one specific thing collaboratively. Fedora and Ubuntu do similar things too, test days, cleansweeps etc. Mostly these are about introducing new folks to the possibility of contributing to Debian.
