(I may not have email archives but maybe someone else does. The discussion was probably on d-devel.) Nowadays I think 1 year is still right. If the existing DPL is doing a good job and wants to continue, they normally get re-elected. Our election campaigns don't seem to be too much of a distraction. And even a 1 year DPL term is a big commitment. Ian.
