I've read your suggestion on Matrix and I might have misinterpreted your intention, thus trying to clarify. Is your intention to simply have another instance who actually uploaded this specific package version? This would changing the meaning of what the Uploaders field was before when it was rather a statement who feels competent, responsible and willing to upload the package (no matter who finally did the upload). How would you fill this field in case of * Team upload (which would loose its sense at all IMHO) * NMU * QA upload ... and thinking further about this idea do we need this field in d/control at all since the build process itself could insert it.
