Package: task-python-dev Version: N/A; Severity: important [CC'd to debian-python to get some discussion going... hopefully flame-free :-)]
There are too many Depends... most of those should be Suggests:, and some of them should be dropped completely. Stuff like python-gtk is okay, I think. Stuff I would move to suggestions: gadfly: if I use PostgreSQL, I have no use for this... gimp-python: okay, so everyone has the GIMP, and *needs* scripting in python Stuff I would remove: pyrite: every python developer has a Palm, right ;-) only Palm users would be interested in this, which is a pretty small group (to which I, sadly, don't belong ;-) htmlgen: that's in python-web already... I think all the task-python* packages lack focus... -- System Information Debian Release: potato Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux sanctum 2.2.12 #1 Mon Sep 6 05:43:29 CEST 1999 i686
