In the case of basemap, 1.0.7+dfsg-2 was released to experimental, so svn tags that version as the latest release, but the git migration process only tagged 1.0.7+dfsg-1 (to unstable) as the latest debian upload. For aafigure, 0.5-4 was released in unstable, and so the git migration process tagged that as the latest debian release. But the last svn release tag is 0.5-3, and then svn also has a collection of changes after 0.5-3, still noted as UNRELEASED in debian/changelog. Some of these kinds of things could be fixed after transitioning to git, some might be more easily fixed before re-running the migration scripts.
