Hello,

Thank you for the welcome, Louis-Philippe - membership arrived yesterday
and I have put it to immediate use.

I have adopted two packages that were orphaned in the team's namespace.
Both are pushed to the team repositories, both have green pipelines, and
both now need a sponsor for the upload itself, which membership does not
grant.

python-svg.path 7.1-1 (ITA #816512, RFS #1143833)
Orphaned since 2017. New upstream release 7.1, plus the adoption.

helpdev 0.7.1-7 (ITA #1067786, RFS #1144088)
Orphaned since February 2024. The substantive change is debian/watch, which
had been failing since gitlab.com moved /tags to /-/tags - uscan reported
"no matching files for watch source", so the package had been invisible to
upstream-version tracking. Switched to mode=git, which avoids the HTML
scraping entirely. Also adds a manual page, written from __main__.py so the
options match what argparse actually accepts.

  https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/packages/helpdev/-/pipelines/1147394

Both: lintian 2.139.0 clean inside a sid chroot, autopkgtest and
piuparts passing, sbuild against unstable.

If anyone has time to review or sponsor either, I would be grateful.
Review is genuinely as useful to me as sponsorship - these are my first
two uploads, and I would rather learn now what I am doing wrong than
repeat it across more packages.

One question I would value an opinion on, about helpdev. It shells out
to "pip list" in helpdev/__init__.py, but the binary package does not
depend on python3-pip. That looks like a real missing dependency to me.
I did not want to add it in the same upload as the adoption without
asking - is that better as part of this upload, or as a separate one
afterwards?

I have two more prepared but not claimed - python-ajpy and python-rply,
both modernised locally and building clean. I am deliberately not filing
ITAs for them until the first two are actually in the archive, on the
grounds that an unanswered ITA blocks other people. If that is more
caution than the team expects, I am happy to be told so.

Thanks,

Dustin Kost
