I'm trying to understand how this thing is supposed to be set up -- I've found a couple of howtos, which are sadly in Japanese. The explaination in the README and other docs might make sense once you know what's going on, but at first sight it's daunting. I'd appreciate it if you could add a small note to the README.Debian file indicating which other packages are required for the whole thing to work. This is also related to 117354. Thanks, Marcelo Canna for DEBIAN ---------------- This is Canna, a Japanese input system, packaged for Debian. For security reasons, the server doesn't listen on a TCP socket by default. This can be enabled by using the "-inet" option and is required in order to establish remote connections to the server. You also have to add the hostname of the remote machine to /etc/hosts.canna for this to work. This can be reconfigured by issuing the command: $ dpkg-reconfigure canna If the environment variable CANNAHOST is unset or set to the value "unix", the canna client will use UNIX domain sockets for the communication with the server. Any other value (including "localhost") will cause the client to use a TCP connection. ----- ISHIKAWA Mutsumi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------- Received: (at 203291-close) by bugs.debian.org; 7 Aug 2003 23:23:09 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 07 18:23:06 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from auric.debian.org [206.246.226.45] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 19ku65-0005SE-00; Thu, 07 Aug 2003 18:23:05 -0500 Received: from katie by auric.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 19ku0Z-0000TJ-00; Thu, 07 Aug 2003 19:17:23 -0400 From: Junichi Uekawa <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.35 $ Subject: Bug#203291: fixed in canna 3.6p1-3 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Archive Administrator <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, 07 Aug 2003 19:17:23 -0400 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of canna, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: canna-utils_3.6p1-3_i386.deb to pool/main/c/canna/canna-utils_3.6p1-3_i386.deb canna_3.6p1-3.diff.gz to pool/main/c/canna/canna_3.6p1-3.diff.gz canna_3.6p1-3.dsc to pool/main/c/canna/canna_3.6p1-3.dsc canna_3.6p1-3_i386.deb to pool/main/c/canna/canna_3.6p1-3_i386.deb libcanna1g-dev_3.6p1-3_i386.deb to pool/main/c/canna/libcanna1g-dev_3.6p1-3_i386.deb libcanna1g_3.6p1-3_i386.deb to pool/main/c/canna/libcanna1g_3.6p1-3_i386.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached.
