This may cause part or all of the last digit of the minutes to become hidden. A screenshot may make this clearer: http://liw.iki.fi/liw/misc/gnome-panel-clock.png As text: "ma 17. marraskuuta, 10:4" It should say: "ma 17. marraskuuta, 10:41" The text is in Finnish since that is what I use; I don't know if the locale is relevant. If I go to the preferences and toggle the setting to show seconds the clock applet resizes itself and then all works again for some time. I have not yet figured out the pattern for when the text becomes too wide. Presumably the applet computes its (maximum?) width a bit too small in some cases, or something. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux sybil 2.6.0-test3-liw-3 #1 Sun Aug 17 21:00:06 EEST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=fi_FI, LC_CTYPE=fi_FI Versions of packages gnome-panel depends on: ii gnome-control-center 1:2.4.0-4 The GNOME Control Center for GNOME ii gnome-desktop-data 2.4.1-3 Common files for GNOME 2 desktop a ii gnome-panel-data 2.4.1-4 Common files for GNOME 2 panel ii gnome-session 2.4.1-2 The GNOME 2 Session Manager ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.16-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libatk1.0-0 1.4.1-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libaudiofile0 0.2.3-4 The Audiofile Library ii libbonobo2-0 2.4.2-1 Bonobo CORBA interfaces library ii libbonoboui2-0 2.4.0-4 The Bonobo UI library ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libesd0 0.2.29-1 Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libgconf2-4 2.4.0.1-2 GNOME configuration database syste ii libgcrypt1 1.1.12-4 LGPL Crypto library - runtime libr ii libglade2-0 2.0.1-6 Library to load .glade files at ru ii libglib2.0-0 2.2.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgnome-desktop-2 2.4.1-3 Utility library for loading .deskt ii libgnome2-0 2.4.0-4 The GNOME 2 library - runtime file ii libgnomecanvas2-0 2.4.0-1 A powerful object-oriented display ii libgnomeui-0 2.4.0.1-5 The GNOME 2 libraries (User Interf ii libgnomevfs2-0 2.4.1-4 The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgnomevfs2-common 2.4.1-4 The GNOME virtual file-system libr ii libgnutls7 0.8.12-2 GNU TLS library - runtime library ii libgtk2.0-0 2.2.4-2 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libjpeg62 6b-9 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii liborbit2 1:2.8.2-1 Libraries for ORBit2 - a CORBA ORB ii libpanel-applet2-0 2.4.1-4 Library for GNOME 2 Panel applets ii libpango1.0-0 1.2.5-2 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-0 1.2.5.0-4 PNG library - runtime ii libpopt0 1.7-3 lib for parsing cmdline parameters ii libstartup-notification0 0.5-4 library for program launch feedbac ii libtasn1-0 0.1.2-1 Manage ASN.1 structures (runtime) ii libwnck4 2.4.0.1-2 Window Navigator Construction Kit ii libxml2 2.6.2-1 GNOME XML library ii xlibs 4.3.0-0ds3v1 X Window System client libraries ii zlib1g 1:1.1.4-16 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information --------------------------------------- Received: (at 221211-done) by bugs.debian.org; 28 Mar 2004 20:10:03 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Mar 28 12:10:03 2004 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from rwcrmhc12.comcast.net [216.148.227.85] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1B7gba-0005bL-00; Sun, 28 Mar 2004 12:10:03 -0800 Received: from [192.168.1.4] (c-24-125-118-27.va.client2.attbi.com[24.125.118.27]) by comcast.net (rwcrmhc12) with SMTP id <20040328200932014009e2jie> (Authid: alexander.winston); Sun, 28 Mar 2004 20:09:32 +0000 Subject: Re: gnome-panel: All of clock text not visible From: Alexander Winston <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="=-OG0P3+SvYMUHVk/x0nFu" Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Mailer: Ximian Evolution 1.5.5 Date: Sun, 28 Mar 2004 15:09:21 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-2.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2004_03_25 X-Spam-Level: --=-OG0P3+SvYMUHVk/x0nFu Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Closing this bug accordingly. --=-OG0P3+SvYMUHVk/x0nFu Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBAZzDwDEidtQ6Z/WURApsRAKCTIhlMcmUjy6z1/BiYLTfL9UpRmwCfRk0X kYmdNQYfobRkGguQHtBqXV0= =bFe1 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-OG0P3+SvYMUHVk/x0nFu--
