Joe, AFAICT you're going a bit over the top here: the apparent libgnome-keyring linkages seems to be only indirectly via libgnomeui, and libgnomeui-0 does depend on libgnome-keyring0 (at least in my powerpc build...), thanks to the wonders of dpkg-shlibdeps. The only real problem is that libgnomeui-dev doesn't depend on libgnome-keyring-dev (bug #241208).
