Hi,

 

splitvt fails to cross build because it does not pass cross build tools to
make. Adding buildtools.mk and re-defining the compiler can solve this
problem.

This is wrong. dh_auto_build is not passing a compiler to make, because
there is a ./configure script in place. This ./configure script detects
a number of aspects using the (build architecture) compiler. Mixing
these features is going to produce broken binaries. Making splitvt work
requires fixing its ./configure. There already is a patch for that:
#912605.

I consider this bug a duplicate of #912605 and therefore close it.
