A "batch" could be multiple recipients in a message or multiple messages received in a single smtp connection. The wallclock timestamps are quite tight within such a "batch": e.g. 13:51:02-13:52:28, 14:06:49-14:08:03 Your mail logfiles might reveal more of the nature of these batches (but you probably should not post them publically!)
