bbpager fails to cross build from source, because aclocal.m4 contains a broken, oudated, embedded copy of the PKG_CHECK_MODULES macro. The actual bug in that macro is fixed in pkg-config upstream for years. bbpager just happens to ship a copy of the bug. Please remove this copy and use the upstream macro.
