--- Begin Message ---Package: libstdc++2.10-dev Version: 1:2.95.1-1 I'm not sure if libstdc++2.10-dev is the one with a bug or if is it autoconf, but as the problem arose when I upgraded libstdc++-dev, I'll mail the bug report for it. (just let me know if I'm barking the wrong tree) I'm using autoconf version 2.13-10 (Deb package) and it seems to add "-Dconst=" definition to my c++ compilation command line switches. (my g++ is version 1:2.95.1-0pre2 (Deb package)) And to be honest I don't understand why autoconf includes such macro... but anyway: This was not a problem when I used libstcd++2.9-dev but when I upgraded to 2.10-dev I began to get the following error message when using "-Dconst=": sammakko:/tmp$ cat bug.cpp #include <iostream> sammakko:/tmp$ c++ -Dconst= -c bug.cpp In file included from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.1/../../../../include/g++-3/iostream.h:31, from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.1/../../../../include/g++-3/iostream:6, from bug.cpp:1: /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.1/../../../../include/g++-3/streambuf.h:238: os::pword(int)' has already been declared in os' /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/2.95.1/../../../../include/g++-3/streambuf.h:240: os::iword(int)' has already been declared in os' sammakko:/tmp$ For the while I manage by removing the -Dconst=.
