Hello, There are three duplicate bugs filed against libfreetype6 Debian package that talk about the same thing:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=230179 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=235542 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=277992 (please merge the last bug with others) All those bugs about improper autohinting (up to unreadable text) of Verdana font are caused by the patch Debian applies to FreeType: 012-freetype-2.1.7-autohint-cjkfonts-20031130.diff patch In other words, vanilla freetype doesn't have this bug. Could you please, considering the number of duplicate bug reports, release this package without this patch? Or, if you really want this patch to be available for CJK users, please make libfreetype6 a virtual package. Any other solutions can also be discussed. -- Alexander E. Patrakov
