Hi Gordon, It is not too late, but I suspect plymouth is not a hard dependency for using systemd nor cryptsetup. More likely, it would make sense to request for one of them to Recommend plymouth. Though, to be honest, I am not sure which of them it belongs too. I would recommend that you file a bug against systemd-sysv and cryptsetup requesting for one of them to recommend plymouth.
