I am having trouble with mouse middle button click (paste). The paste operation
results in garbage some of the time, usually with only
one character being pasted or extraneous characters being pasted.
I discovered that having my toshiba 750G USB hard drive plugged in makes a
world of a difference. If the toshiba is plugged in, then the
paste operation works correctly. If the toshiba is not plugged in, then the
paste operation sometimes works but most of the time it does
not work.
I spent a lot of time with Microsoft CoPilot troubleshooting this problem. The
end result was that CoPilot was of the opinion that the
problem is a timing issue with udev + libinput initialization. Apparently, the
presence of the toshiba affects the initialization
timing, slowing it down enough to work properly.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.
