Hi, > When I try to get mail from a pop3 server (pop3.gmx.net) I get a message > popping up saying: > "Could not start process pop3." > In the same time it puts out on stderr the message > "kmail: ERROR: : couldn't create slave : Unable to create io-slave: > klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'pop3'." > I have this situation for several months, and I have it with a completely new > debian system as well. > I tried the port on the host with telnet and get a response. > Sending mail is no problem This paragraph is from the description of the kmail package (apt-cache show kmail): You need to install kdepim-kio-plugins if you want to use IMAP or mbox files, and/or kdebase-kio-plugins if you want to use POP3. So please install kdebase-kio-plugins. I'm closing this bug.
