Package: kmix
Version: 4:15.04.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

   * I just updated Sid with "apt-get dist-upgrade"
   * Desktop in use: KDE
   * This bug can reproduced with "mkdir foo && kwrite foo" in Konsole
   * Volume level in kmix rises from 0 % to 100 % and system plays an error
sound. In my case, there is good amplifier and good speakers, so my hearing
may seriously injure with 100 % volume level. If I put level to 0 %, I does not
expect any warning sound with HIGH VOLUME. I set severity level to critical,
because this can damage my hearing.
   * Plain error popup message, no sound at all.
   * Btw, I tried to unset all notification sounds from the system settings,
but kwrite always plays this error sound)

Hello,

this seems like a pulseaudio bug that also affected me and that the maintainer
and authors at the time refused to do anything about.

Now that debian is using pipewire by default, it should no longer happen.

Feel free to reopen if it happens with pipewire as well.

If you are still using pulseaudio, I advice you to use pipewire instead.

Best
