sometimes KDE needs the spring cleaningI have had the same problem on a very old installation (the problem not happens on systems less old than 2009) and I have solved with an rm -r /var/tmp/kdecache-kdm*
So now KDM use always the default directory /var/tmp/kdecache-kdm/
