* What led up to the situation?
Looking at what was needed to upgrade kwin-related packages to experimental
due to problems with the current version (see but #810947).
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
The depends for kwin-common 4:5.5.4-1 lists:
libkwinglutil7 >= 4:5.4.0
but there only exists a libkwinglutils7 4:5.5.4-1 in Debian experimental
(ie with an "s" in the name).
There is also a depends on libkscreenlocker5 which is not in Debian
(and I'm not sure what source package would build it).
