It looks like perl 5.8.2 could be forced in finally:

libmime-base64-perl is now provided by perl and sympa is the only
package in testing listing a versioned depends on libmime-base64-perl
without listing perl (>= 5.8) as alternative.
Sympa in sid is broken (open rc-bug since 31 days without reaction by
the maintainer).
How about removing sympa from testing and letting perl go in, there are
88 packages waiting for perl.
