That turns out to be what I should have done. The step I didn't work out is that the build-servers would also be running debian (duh!). This got picked up by Steve Capper against binutils as bug 850814. I can't work out the debian-bug-foo to mark this as a duplicate/superseded-by. Thanks, (and sorry for the noise!) James
