The latter (#873957) doesn't appear to have been applied in unstable
yet. Are the upstream fixes relevant to unstable and applied there?
The packaging fix has not yet been applied in unstable yet (it's in the
packaging git staged for the next upload, which I expect to be today or
tomorrow due to a new upstream release that just came out).
All the upstream fixes are already in Unstable/Buster.

Given the timescales, please go ahead with the upload and we'll assume
it's made it to unstable before the point release.
