Thanks for fixing that so fast! I installed the last point release with apt and it my machine became unbootable. I am using a Dell desktop with Intel i5, 64 bit...about 2012. I booted with a thumbdrive, reinstalled/updated Grub and got it going again and the new (old?) shim installed with no problem. Hope that is helpful. Debian is mostly rock solid.
