The Debian GNOME team requests approval to do this transition now. Unfortunately, magpie has still not been accepted through Debian NEW despite the original upload being 11 months ago. The Debian GNOME team has sponsoring uploads to try to help. Practically, budgie-desktop is not yet in tasksel so it's not a first tier Debian desktop that shows in the Debian Installer and Budgie has far less Debian users than GNOME does. Therefore, budgie-desktop will need to be removed from Testing for this transition. There are no other known blocking bugs.
