Hi Release Team, The version 1:11.8.1-5 has been in Debian unstable since 2025-05-26 with no regressions reported, and 1:11.8.2-1 since 2025-06-11 with no regressions detected by any automation nor reported by users.
Although we don't have any users reporting explicitly that they have tested 1:11.8.2-1, nor any users requesting this version to be in Debian in this unblock request, we do have popcon.debian.org showing a lot of users for this package and some are asking for it on the mailing list (https://alioth-lists.debian.net/pipermail/pkg-mysql-maint/2025-June/018044.html). It would likely serve Debian's users best if this was unblocked now. It is unfortunate that the upstream 11.8.2 release (2025-06-04) happened after Trixie freeze (2025-05-15) and thus this looks like a big change past Debian's freeze, but as the maintainer I assure that these changes are all intentional for Trixie and do not jeopardize the Debian release, and the quality assurance and review has been extensive as I wrote in my previous message.
