Hi,
please help writer2xhtml into testing.
Curently it looks like this:
$ grep-excuses -w writer2xhtml
Excuse for writer2xhtml
• Migration status for writer2xhtml (- to 1.7.1-7): BLOCKED:
Rejected/violates migration policy/introduces a regression
• Issues preventing migration:
□ Autopkgtest for writer2xhtml/1.7.1-7: amd64: Pass, arm64: Pass, i386:
Failed ♻, riscv64: Pass
□ Too young, only 0 of 5 days old
• Additional info (not blocking):
□ Piuparts tested OK -
https://piuparts.debian.org/sid/source/w/writer2xhtml.html
□ Autopkgtest skipped on ppc64el: not installable (which is allowed)
□ Autopkgtest skipped on s390x: not installable (which is allowed)
□ New but not reproducible on amd64: writer2xhtml-manual
□ New but not reproducible on arm64: writer2xhtml-manual
□ New but not reproducible on armhf: writer2xhtml-manual
□ New but not reproducible on i386: writer2xhtml-manual

So i386 failed. But this is not a regression.
writer2latex had libreoffice-writer2xhtml until yesterday. When I
upgraded writer2latex from 1.4 to 1.6.1 in December the i386 test passed
fine, later some month later the test started failing (i386-only!) with
the same upstream version. Maybe some OpenJDK change and/or LibreOffices
Java bridge became broken on i386 (which is unsupported upstream...) [1]
See https://ci.debian.net/packages/w/writer2latex/testing/i386/. Started
December 28 with two openjdk tests (but interestingly not with the
default JDKs test...)
So this is no regression to writer2latex and [2] happens; which clearly
says i386: Failed (not a regression).
Now writer2xhtml is a new source package (packaging initially based on
the writer2latex source package, actually it started as a clone of
writer2latex..) and took libreoffice-writer2xhtml over.
Which means that for testing migation POV for libreoffice-writer2xhtml it's
not a ignored regression anymore but "Failed" and blocks this. Which given
testings
libreoffice-writer2xhtml from the writer2latex source package has that
too actually is no actual regression compared to testings
libreoffice-writer2xhtml.
Please hint writer2xhtml in.
If I see that right it'd be
force-badtest writer2xhtml/1.7.1-7
(correct me if I am wrong.)
Regards,
Rene
[1] it doesn't help autopkgtest isn't ran on i386 by the infrastructure

Hi,

Did some more tests in a unstable i386 chroot. The "Unspecified Application
Error" is also thrown on a
"normal" libreoffice start *if* libreoffice-writer2{latex,html} :/
Crashes after trying to find stuff in /etc/xml/catalog.
The
error
xsltParseStylesheetFile : cannot parse
I/O warning : failed to load "": No such file or directory
before that seems to be the clue. Removing (or disabling it in the extensions'
manifest) of the help works.
While I didn't found out what exactly yet caused this I found that
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
in help.tree. Changing this to
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8">
makes the crash go away.
(while still giving those warnings, but....)
I am aware that this makes it non-confirming, but it it works...
So nevermind, will add that as a workaround.
Regards,
Rene
