We request permission to upload GNOME Shell 51 to Unstable and complete its transition. It is already staged in Experimental. Packages we will upload as part of the transition: - gnome-extensions-app (new to Unstable; was previously included in source gnome-shell) - gnome-kiosk - gnome-shell - gnome-shell-extensions - mutter - xdg-desktop-portal-gnome Once packages are in Unstable, we will need 2 types of hints from the Release Team to complete the transition: - A hint to migrate the uploaded packages together. Britney has so far been unable to calculate this on its own. My guess is this is because of the widespread use of versioned dependencies from extensions on gnome-shell which makes it easy for users to see which packaged extensions will break when upgrading - A hint to remove extensions from Testing that were not updated for GNOME Shell 51 yet. This is the largest removal list for us yet. The porting work is often simple but I don't want to be personally responsible for the growing list of extensions that I don't use. We filed bugs for affected packages 2 weeks before filing this transition bug. We can provide a full list as a reply to this bug when the transition is otherwise ready to migrate.
