Also I notice that geda-gnetlist is listed as Dep-Wait on ia64. An earlier
version required guile-1.8 which is still not available on ia64, but the
latest upload specifically works around that.

Hmm. http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?arch=&pkg=geda-gnetlist shows no
logs for the recent build by i386, but 
http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?pkg=geda-gnetlist&arch=i386&ver=1:1.4.0-2
does. Is this broken somehow?
