Hi Release Team, as per the recent announcement on d-d-a, I'd like to announce that we, the pkg-multimedia team would like to update ffmpeg in squeeze at the earliest convenience. libavcodec has seen an SONAME bump (51->52) including some minor API changes.
I do expect some breakage in packages. Espc. packages that use ffmpeg internals but also packages using the long-time deprecated and now removed internal software scaler. There is not much we can do about that, packages need to be ported to libswscale. Anyway, I'd rather like to start the transition soon.
