While updating the DebianLenny wiki page, I noticed that there was no public announcement for "Upcoming Release of Debian GNU/Linux 5.0", like: http://www.debian.org/News/2006/20060724 I think it was a nice thing to have, and maybe it could be added to Squeeze's checklist. /me feels guilty to suggest more workload to some people who did a lot of work already.
