The userbase, expectations and threads like this speak a clear message that postgresql actually _is_ pretty unique here indeed. And it seems to me that (a lot?) of companies/organizations seem to depend on the voluntary efforts of a few and aren't willing or able to see that they are already doing their best effort (some even more), without sacrifising too much of their own life for no real gain (granted, in their own view).
