Much to my regret the GNUstep stack is not in a releasable shape.
There are 5 RC bugs (+2 not reported). 4 of them are trivial to fix,
I'm just waiting to accumulate more changes as finding sponsors is
hard.

The remaining 3 bugs are fixed in experimental, and propagating the
fixes to sid and subsequently testing depends on the transition bug we
have filed last year (#561944), for which we got no comments from the
release team.

As it stands now, and assuming we commence and complete the GNUstep
transition soon, squeeze will be released with base/gui 1.19.3/0.17.1,
which is a bit unfortunate as these are unstable releases. The best
would be 1.20/0.18, but there are no upstream releases yet and some
changes are really massive and scary.

So the most realistic scenario is to stabilize what we have now, and
upload 1.20/0.18 to experimental. If we can manage to deal with all
the problems and there's still room for new transitions (according to
your judgement), then... we'll see.
