Dear release team, I am working with Charles, friendly folks from Canonical/Ubuntu and upstream on getting Eucalyptus into Debian - the Amazon-compatible cloud infrastructure. It is already in Ubuntu, but I think I am not erroenous to claim that the packages do profit from our joint effort.
I think we can make some compromises and upload real quickly if needed. My very personal hunch is that we need about two months from now to make it better than just functional and DFSG compliant.
