The version of discover currently in squeeze will some times mess up
the pkgsel progress bar when called from debian-installer. The fix
was uploaded a while back, in the packages discover and hw-detect.

Please allow them to migrate to testing. This request has been
approved by Otavio in the debian-installer team.

hw-detect (1.83) unstable; urgency=low

   * Set DI_PROGRESS_BAR_VISIBLE flag when running discover-pkginstall
     to avoid it destroying pkgsel's progress bar.
     (Bug #605938 asks for discover to honor this flag.)

discover (2.1.2-5) unstable; urgency=low

   [ Petter Reinholdtsen ]
   * Add code in discover-pkginstall to not enable the tasksel progress
     bar if $DI_PROGRESS_BAR_VISIBLE is set, to avoid messing up the
     progress bar for pkgsel (Closes: 603021). Patch from Joey Hess.

     - Added Danish by Joe Hansen (Closes: #592272).
