kcheckgmail is currently RC buggy in Debian (#681218), unmaintained in Debian, and dead upstream (last upstream commit in their VCS was in 2010. The last obvious maintainer activity was a comment in October 2011 that they were aware the package was broken. With no maintainer upstream or in Debian, it's best it just be removed, even from the stable release as it's pointless as is.
