Unless an argument can be made for a package particularly needing hardening support adding (e.g. it's on the security team's list) then such changes are generally too invasive to be made at this stage via unstable. The fact that we're discussing a tpu upload makes that even more the case, as the package won't get the customary days of testing in unstable before migrating.
