But I think we should at least try to make sure that we'll have MariaDB packaged and read to jump in as mysql replacement if we need a replacement sooner or later. Unfortunately I don't have the time (and probably still not enough mysql related knowledge) to maintain a server package, but maybe we can ask for maintainers/contributors in the Debian project news and on conferences/talks/....
