My primary motivation was to remove the dependency on ruby-actionpack-action- caching so it can be removed from Debian. https://lists.debian.org/debian-ruby/2025/08/msg00017.html https://lists.debian.org/debian-ruby/2025/09/msg00004.html It turns out this wasn’t really needed, because it wasn’t a Depends, but rather a Breaks. But since I was there, I updated the package to fix two CVEs: https://rubyonrails.org/2025/8/13/Rails-Versions-8-0-2-1-7-2-2-2-and-7-1-5-2-have-been-released At least for right now, I don’t have the bandwidth to truly get Rails into shape.
