Недавно здесь обсуждались вопросы работы с Google Maps через Viking... Сегодня в рассылке Viking-devel было объявлено, что Google потребовал удалить из Viking весь код, относящийся к Google Maps, и больше Viking ни загружать, ни отображать Google Maps не будет.

It means that from now on, users will no longer be able to down load or display satellite maps using viking.
