I'm trying to install Debian 3.0 from a locally constructed Sun workstation repository that's sharing the directory through NFS. I cannot get the Debian system to understand the construct system.domain:/hldirectory/debian as the NFS station. If I telnet in and try to mount the share, I get a "failed: Invalid argument" message. I can mount the same share on a RedHat 7.2 system with no problems. I've successfully loaded the system from the www.degian.org <http://www.degian.org> distro, but would like to use this local one, if possible.
One thing I can think of is that the Debian system isn't in the DNS as yet. I've added the IP address and the system name to the /etc/hosts file, but wonder if that has any effect in this instance. The RedHat system IS in the DNS table. TIA
