Package: scilab
Version: 5.3.3-10
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
There is a dependency somewhere that is not set properly: upon installing
scilab 5.3.3-10 some functions ceased to work, in particular the connexion to
the ATOMS server.
Something similar has been reported to me on the scilab newsgroup for versions
5.3.3 and 5.4.0 on Ubuntu; I suspect the issue is the same as I was able to
reproduce it with 5.3.3-10 and 5.3.3-8 on Debian. (on 5.3.3-8 a few things,
including ATOMS and SCICOS,failed silently; on 5.3.3-10 there was a java-
related error message that I unfortunately forgot to save).
An upgrade some of the java stack fixed it; here is the complete list:

Unfortunately I did not save the error log from scilab before the fix, but you
will probably be able to tell which package is responsible (my money is on
libservlet25-java but that's really just a wild guess. It would be nice if it
was added to the dependancies, as that confuses some users.

Cheers
