This stands for expected failures; they are tests that fail on our upstream testing system due to a bug that we know about but have not yet fixed. So there is no need for you to worry about them.

As you must have realized, the automatic tests are not very robust. Our experience is that they do occasionally fail due to reasons that we can't figure out. So you're probably right not investigating further.
