Everything about opencv is a moving target.
The API and the dependencies change in such a fast pace that even their own examples can't keep up with.
Even the most desperate way: Building a chroot with just opencv
debootstrap --arch=amd64 --variant=minbase --include=facedetect stable chroot_amd64 https://ftp.debian.org/debian
will *not* work at the moment this email was sent.
I mean the library has useful/interesting looking bait-screenshots on it's website... but who actually uses it in a productive way?
They even force GUI into their examples... and when you remove that to make them easier(!) to compile and reduce the dependencies by, at least, 50% in the same step... their examples become scriptable(!).. but that doesn't seem to be intended because then they'll change their API again... or just remove the entire binding against the language used before because one of their devs won't even support C anymore because every aspect of the whole thing is in no way stable...
