would it take a lot of work to backport a current version of slepc and its
direct dependencies, i.e. petsc, to wheezy-backports? I need a
functionality which is not present in the version in wheezy, but is included
in the one in sid, but I would rather avoid cluttering my wheezy systems
with hand-compiled versions of libraries which are already installed as
packages. I would be willing to help in the backport, if help is needed.
Thanks in advance, bye

Support for wheezy (LTS) has ended in 2018 ... wheezy-backports was
probably closed when regular wheezy support ended in 2016.
